About

Aaron Bird surveys caves and works on the data that comes out of surveying them: station networks, loop closure, line plots, and the long unglamorous business of turning field notes into a map that holds up.

This site collects that work in one place. Project workspaces hold the survey data and are open to the people on each project. The public pages hold discussion, recordings, media, and a way to get in touch.

Locations are not published here. Nothing on the public pages identifies an entrance or its surroundings, and photographs are chosen with that in mind. Access questions go through the landowner or the managing agency, not through this site.

Work is shared with project teams first and published when the people involved agree it is ready.
